"I love you"
lakhotiyapi: So, while making Valentines in Lakota yesterday evening with my class, we got on the topic of how to say “I love you.” There are actually two ways to say “I love you”: Thečhíȟila. Iyótaŋčhila. The first seems more to be for “unconditional” love, but I think both work fine however you’d like to use them! Enjoy!

Suck This Lemon!: 1895: Don’ts for women riders →
suckthislemon: The below list was originally published by the New York World in 1895. It’s not known whether the author(s) were male or female, but that doesn’t make it any less ridiculous. For those who get nostalgic for that 1890s golden era of cycling, it’s important to realize it wasn’t golden for…

– Voltairine de Cleyre, The Mexican Revolution  Reading this makes me fucking depressed, actually. This was written over a hundred years ago, by a white person. It’s like, what the fuck happened. Why weren’t more people inspired by these words and driven to what we now call anti-colonialist action? ...

Indians Counter Occupy Wall Street Movement With... →
bloomingtogether: “The ‘OCCUPY WALL STREET’ slogan has gone viral and international now. From the protests on the streets of WALL STREET in the name of ‘ending capitalism’—organizers, protestors, and activists have been encouraged to ‘occupy’ different places that symbolize greed and power. There’s just one problem: THE UNITED STATES IS ALREADY BEING OCCUPIED. THIS IS INDIGENOUS LAND.”
