MUST SHOP… STILL BLACK FRIDAY… MUST PEPPER SPRAY FELLOW SHOPPERS BECAUSE THEY ARE COMPETING WITH ME FOR MY TRIBE’S ONLY SOURCE OF NUTRIENTS… MIND NUMBING TELEVISION AND VIDEO GAMES AND FOODS CONTAINING HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP ALL OF WHICH HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED IN CHINA AND SOLD AT WAL MART, WHICH IS AN AMERICAN COMPANY SO IT MUST ONLY SELL AMERICAN MADE ITEMS LIKE THESE AMERICAN FLAGS AND INFLATABLE SANTA RIDING A MOTORCYCLE YARD DISPLAYS… Yet why do I feel this great sense of unease even as I partake in the great American past time of rampant, pointless consumerism? Why does the purchasing of cheap non durable electronics and semi-disposable clothing leave me feeling so incredibly anxious?
Oh, because everything is a competition, from television to politics, to eating and shopping. If you’re not competing at everything, you’re losing.
I think that gladiatorial battles between prisoners and slaves would be a much less degrading red flag marking the demise of the American way.](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lv8nae5rdA1qzpwi0o1_500.jpg)
